Zither Tree, derived from a poem by the Tang dynasty poet — Bai Juyi:

The wood of the Shu tree is solid, the sound of the Chu silk is clear. Play slowly and gently, ten notes in the deep night.

Entering the ear is bland and tasteless, but it brings joy to the heart. Play on your own and stop on your own, you don’t need anyone to listen.

Silk is the string of the guzheng;

Wood is the body of the instrument;

Tree refers to you who are present.

Miss Fang started learning the guzheng at eight, mentored by teacher Wu Xiaohong, and obtained performance levels from the Central Conservatory of Music and Shanghai Conservatory of Music. In 2022, she founded "Zither Tree" to promote Chinese music culture, inherit the classical beauty of the guzheng, and hopes that everyone can express themselves through music and feel the joy brought by each note. Last year, Zither Tree co-organized the "Back to Simplicity – Guzheng Research Sleepover Project (Season One)" with the Jao Tsung-I Academy, which received a warm response, and the concert was thrilling.

During her studies, Miss Fang participated in inter-school music festivals multiple times, achieving outstanding results, including second place in the enhancement group, third place in the advanced group, second place in the intermediate group, and first place in the beginner group. Over the years, she has also participated in many public performances, formerly a member of the Hong Kong Children's Guzheng Group, performing at venues such as district council events and Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront. After growing up, she also served as a guzheng musician for a Chinese orchestra and was a member of the Wu Xiaohong Guzheng Art Group, performing multiple times at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre and various community events, gaining rich performance experience.

Miss Fang has over ten years of teaching experience and has even traveled to Tibet to serve as a guzheng instructor. She is currently a guzheng instructor at several secondary schools and music stores. Her students have also achieved impressive results in guzheng exams, often winning championships, second, and third places in public competitions.
